Phoenix dominate Ambassadors in non-conference action

HUNTSVILLE, Ala.- Cumberland University routed Oakwood, 89-51, in non-conference action for the Phoenix.

Head coach Scott Blum was very pleased with the win as he loved the drive the team came out with. " We played well as a team and came out with energy and focus in the first quarter," Blum said. "A great team win now we need to get ready for Saturday."

Cumberland used three double-digit scorers in the game with a lot players getting action and contributing. Junior Mackenzie Trouten scored 14 points, sophomore Devon Burns scored 11 points, and freshman Ashlyn Pittman collected 11 points. All of Burns' points came in the second half.

Lauren King put up nine points from three three-pointers and Abby Morgan posted eight points. Seniors Kerrice Watson and Katherine Griffith each scored eight points. Bree Thibeault also finished with eight points off the bench.

Britany Miller registered four points, Lucy Chilcutt scored three points, Gracie Bush posted three points and Gracie Johnson finished with two points.
