WALESKA, Ga.-- Despite a strong third-set comeback, the Phoenix fell short in a three-set match against RV Reinhardt. 

The Phoenix struggled at the net, recording 18 fewer kills than the Eagles, which allowed Reinhardt to maintain the lead for most of the match. Reinhardt's strong attacking was complemented by ten total team blocks.

Set one saw a back-and-forth battle, with the teams tied at 7-7 until Reinhardt's 8-2 run put them in the lead. The Eagles held onto their advantage until the Phoenix rallied back with a series of blocks and kills, tying the score at 18-18.

However, the Eagles pulled ahead, finishing the set with 17 total kills on .448% team attacking for 25-19 win.

Carrying their momentum into the second set, the Eagles took a 15-7 lead, with their first four points coming from swings at the pins. The Phoenix faced offensive challenges while Reinhardt continued without error, resulting in a 25-14 victory for the Eagles.

Set three was an exciting battle at the net, with the Phoenix matching Reinhardt's attacking energy and bolstering it with strong defense from Ginnings.

Despite falling behind by six points, the Phoenix capitalized on errors from the Eagles to mount a comeback, going on a 5-0 scoring run to bring the score within one point. 

After exchanging leads, the teams fought to a 31-31 tie, but a serving error from Cumberland followed by a deep corner shot from Reinhardt secured their sweep, 33-31.

The Phoenix will stay in Georgia, traveling to the Marietta area tomorrow for a 5:00 PM match against Life University.
