Phoenix Set for Second Meeting with Bethel in Mid-South Play

LEBANON, Tenn.--Cumberland women's volleyball continues Mid-South Conference play Tuesday night with a road trip to McKenzie, Tenn., to take on Bethel University. First serve is set for 7:00 p.m. as the Phoenix look to extend their winning streak and complete the season sweep of the Wildcats.

Cumberland (21-9, 4-2 MSC) enters the match riding a two-match win streak after a pair of victories at Campbellsville and against Talladega last week.

Sophomore outside hitter Lila Cade continues to lead the charge offensively, pacing the Phoenix and ranking among the MSC's top attackers with 336 kills (3.00 per set) while adding 314 digs and 40 service aces. Senior middle hitter Hazel Konkel has been a steady force at the net with 220 kills on a .359 hitting percentage—third-best in the conference—and 40 total blocks. Freshman setter Carlee Rogers has emerged as one of the top distributors in the league, averaging 5.73 assists per set with 642 total.

Defensively, senior libero Morgan Snead anchors the back line with 361 digs, ranking among the MSC leaders at 3.31 per set. Junior defensive specialist Kaleigh Glass has also been strong in the rotation, posting 274 digs and 31 aces. Rogers and Cade continue to contribute on both sides of the ball, combining for 85 blocks and nearly 600 digs on the season.

Bethel (7-10, 2-4 MSC) enters Tuesday's contest after picking up a five-set win at Georgetown on Saturday. The Wildcats rank fifth in the conference in digs per set (17.26) but have struggled offensively, hitting .127 as a team while averaging just over 10 kills per set. Freshman outside hitter Katie Pennington leads Bethel with 192 kills (3.10 per set) on a .218 attack percentage, while sophomore Kennedi Morrison has added 135 kills. Setter Mackenzie McCammon runs the offense with 269 assists, and freshman defensive specialist Clara Sestini leads the back row with 234 digs (4.42 per set).

Cumberland swept Bethel in the first meeting between the two programs on September 18 in Lebanon, winning 25-12, 25-15, 25-17 behind a dominant all-around performance. The Phoenix hold a 22-17 all-time series lead and have won seven straight against the Wildcats dating back to 2022.
