Cumberland Finishes 36th in NAIA Learfield Directors’ Cup Fall Standings

LEBANON, Tenn.--Cumberland University Athletics sit in 36th place of the NAIA Learfield Directors' Cup NAIA fall standings, finishing with 114.00 points, a sharp improvement from 75th after the fall season last year. 

The standings reflect cumulative success across fall championship sports and underscore the Phoenix's continued upward trajectory on the national stage.

Cumberland closed the fall season 36th overall, totaling 114.00 points, with scoring contributions highlighted by women's soccer and men's soccer. The result marks a 39-spot improvement year-over-year from last fall's position. Men's soccer posted a ninth place finish at the national tournament reaching the final site for the first time in program history for 64 points. Women's soccer reached the second round of the NAIA National Championship to add in 50 points. 

The NAIA national race was led by Indiana Wesleyan, which claimed the No. 1 position with 425.00 points, fueled by top finishes across multiple fall sports. Cumberlands (Ky.) followed in second at 385.00 points, while College of Idaho placed third with 333.50 points. Marian finished fourth at 296.50 points, and The Master's rounded out the top five with 270.00 points.

The Mid-South Conference was well represented in the fall standings. Cumberlands (Ky.) led the league in second place while Lindsey Wilson landed inside the top 15 with 204.00 points. Campbellsville is in 64th place at 70.00 points, and Bethel (Tenn.) is in 67th at 64.00.

The Learfield Directors' Cup is a joint program of NACDA and USA Today that honors overall athletic excellence by awarding points based on national championship finishes. Midseason standings are unofficial, with final standings released following the conclusion of the spring season.

The winter results will be released on April 2nd.
