Phoenix Outgain Tigers 416-40 En Route to 62-0 Victory

BLAKELY, Ga. - - Cumberland football put together a dominant performance on Sunday afternoon, rolling past Andrew College 62-0.

Cumberland's ground game proved to be the difference, finishing with 318 rushing yards and seven touchdowns on 52 carries. The Phoenix averaged more than six yards per attempt and consistently moved the ball downfield, allowing the offense to dictate the pace of the contest. Rashod Daniel led the way with 114 yards and three rushing touchdowns on 14 carries, adding a 35-yard receiving touchdown to finish with four total scores. Pierce Meacham contributed 80 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries, while Ladarius Smith and Luke Parker also found the end zone on the ground.

The Phoenix opened the scoring in the first quarter when Smith broke through for a 12-yard touchdown run. After adding a field goal later in the period, Cumberland extended its advantage in the second quarter with two touchdowns from Daniel, including the 35-yard reception. The offense took control after halftime, putting together a 21-point third quarter as Daniel, Meacham and Luke Parker each scored rushing touchdowns. Cumberland added another 17 points in the fourth quarter, with Daniel and Meacham finding the end zone again before Chase Dodson connected on a field goal.

While the offense continued to pile up points, Cumberland's defense delivered an equally impressive performance. The Phoenix limited Andrew College to just 40 total yards on 53 plays, holding the visitors to 42 rushing yards and negative-two passing yards. Andrew managed only four first downs and converted just two of its 14 third-down attempts, struggling to generate any consistent offensive momentum against Cumberland's defensive front.

The Phoenix recorded two sacks and intercepted a pass, with Daniel Doegan returning his interception 40 yards. Cumberland also consistently disrupted Andrew's offense, recording multiple tackles for loss and forcing the visitors to punt nine times. The defense maintained its intensity throughout the afternoon, completing the shutout and ensuring Andrew never found its way onto the scoreboard, the Phoenix's first shutout of the season.

Cumberland will take their efforts to No. 13 Campbellsville next weekend, squaring off with a Tigers team who just upended the Cumberlands.
