LEBANON, TENN. - - Women's basketball will look to bounce back after a tough defeat to No.1 Freed-Hardeman, as they face the No.3 seed Bethel in the final home game of the season.

Cumberland comes into the final match of the regular season with an overall record of 15-12 and 1-10 in the conference. This is the second time these teams have met each other this season, with the previous game ending 43-58 in the favor of the Wildcats. 

Sydney Schwallie picked up ten points in the Phoenix most recent game against the Lions, going four of nine from the field, while Emaleigh Tarpley was successful at the free throw line going six of nine, the junior also sits third in the conference on rebounds per game. Another player the Phoenix will be looking to drive them forward and get points on the board will be Ty Buckley, with the senior guard averaging 14.7 points per game, with a .826 free throw percentage while putting up an average of 5.9 rebounds per game. 

Bethel come into the game with a 23-4 record and 8-3 in the conference. The Wildcats haven't dropped below the third place in the NAIA Top 25 poll all season, so they are going to be a tough opponent for the Phoenix. 

In their most recent game, Bethel took the narrow 65-62 victory over Lindsey Wilson. Mikee Buchanan was on fire, picking up 27 points going 11 of 18 from the field, five of eight from the arc and making ten rebounds. Madison Hart also had a successful night making five of seven free throws and four rebounds. Hart is also second in the conference on points per game average with 18.4.

In all time history the Wildcats lead the Phoenix 9-14 with the Phoenix last victory coming in the 2023-24 season when they won 67-64. Cumberland will be looking to get the win and make it a special night for their seniors, Ever Walker, Schwallie, Buckley, Buckley, and team manager, Terri Reynolds.
