COLUMBUS, Ind. - - Cumberland flag football's inaugural season came to a close this afternoon as the Phoenix fell to Campbellsville, 20-6, in the rubber match of the season series between the two programs.

Campbellsville struck early with a pair of first-quarter touchdowns and added another score in the second quarter to build a 20-0 halftime lead. Cumberland continued to battle and found the end zone in the third quarter when Trinity Ryan connected with

Jessica Young on a 30-yard touchdown pass to cap a four-play, 44-yard drive.
Ryan finished 17 of 24 passing for 76 yards and a touchdown, while Young led the receiving group with five catches for 42 yards and the score. CallieAnna Griggs added six receptions for 22 yards, and Jessica Young also paced the rushing attack with 15 yards on one carry.

Defensively, Avery Conger led Cumberland with eight tackles, while Josilyn Diaz recorded four tackles and a sack. Jada Starnes added an interception and a 31-yard return in the fourth quarter to halt a Campbellsville scoring threat.

This game marked the conclusion of Cumberland's inaugural flag football season as the Phoenix continue building the foundation for the program moving forward.
