ATHENS, Ala. - - Cumberland University's men's golf team sits in fifth place following the opening two rounds of competition at Canebrake Golf Club, posting a team score of five-over-par.

Cumberland opened the tournament with a team score of four-over-par before improving to one-over-par in the second round. The Phoenix enters the final round at five-over-par, with the team looking to close the tournament on a strong note.

Callum Hook currently leads Cumberland individually, sitting in a tie for 11th place at one-under-par. Hook opened the tournament with an even-par 72 before producing a one-under-par 71 in the second round.

Hook's second round featured a strong finish on the back nine. After making the turn at two-over-par, he responded with a three-under-par 33 on the final nine holes to finish under par for the round. His performance included a birdie on the 17th hole and an eagle on the par-five 18th, helping him finish with momentum heading into the final round.

Gustav Fredriksson is also positioned inside the top 15, sitting in 13th place at even-par. Fredriksson carded a 74 in the opening round before responding with a two-under-par 70 in the second. His second-round performance was the best individual score among Cumberland's golfers and moved him back to even for the tournament.

Egan Hadelman sits in 20th place at one-over-par following rounds of 70 and 75. Hadelman's opening-round 70 was one of the stronger scores in the Cumberland lineup, while his second-round 75 leaves him within reach of the top 15 heading into the final round.

Stefans Spruz is tied for 40th at six-over-par after recording rounds of 76 and 74. Spruz improved by two strokes in the second round, helping Cumberland maintain its position on the team leaderboard.

Carter Stroup rounds out the Phoenix's team scoring lineup in a tie for 46th place at seven-over-par. Stroup posted a 77 in the opening round before improving to a 74 in the second. Competing as an individual, Federico Sandrolini is also tied for 46th at seven-over-par. Sandrolini opened with a one-under-par 71 but recorded an 80 in the second round.

With the Phoenix sitting at five-over-par, the team will look to build on its second-round showing and climb the leaderboard during Tuesday's final round. The final round at Canebrake is scheduled to begin Tuesday morning with all teams teeing off at 8 AM.
