LEBANON, Tenn. -- Cumberland Women's Volleyball competes in their conference opener on the road as they face off against Bethel (Tenn.) on Tuesday, September 15th. First serve is set for 7:00 PM.

Cumberland (8-10) are coming off of a five-set victory at home against Point University in their first game back from a three tournament road trip.

As a team, the Phoenix are third in conference in kills/set (11.88) and assists/set (10.94) while sitting fourth in points/set (16.1). Cumberland has been strong on the serve, hitting 2.26 service aces per set, which is second in the Mid-South and are leading the conference in blocks per set (1.92) and total blocks (125). 

Individually, the Phoenix are led by outsides Bianca Guceanu and Carola Schnidrig. Schnidrig sat at fourth in the conference in kills per set (2.82) with Guceanu sitting in the top 15 with 2.17. Schnidrig is also sitting in second in service aces per set (0.56), second in points per set (3.6), and fifth in total points (179.5). 

Sophomore setter Carlee Rogers is right behind Guceanu in kills per set (2.05) while sitting in third in the conference in assists (448) and assists per set (6.89). Defensively, senior libero Kaleigh Glass is third in the conference in digs (250) and digs per set (3.85). While junior middle Liberty Shadix is leading the conference in blocks (60) and blocks per set (0.92) while also adding 1.83 kills per set.

Looking at the hosts, Bethel (0-7) are looking for their first win of the season after falling to UT Southern in straight sets. 

The Wildcats have been strong on the serve, committing the least amount of service errors in the conference (39), while also committing the least amount of blocking errors in the conference (4). In attack, Bethel is led by junior Kennedi Morrison, who has 55 kills (2.5 kills per set), and senior Camila Sandoval, who is distributing 78 assists (3.55 assists per set). 

Between the two teams, the Phoenix hold the season series with a record of 23-18 against Bethel, with Cumberland having a 6-12 record in McKenzie. Last season, the Phoenix and Bethel tied the regular season series, with both teams winning in their home arenas in straight sets, though CU had the upper hand in the Mid-South Tournament in straight sets.
