PALM HARBOR, Fla. - - The Cumberland University men's golf team turned in a much-improved performance in the second round of The Invite at Innisbrook, closing the day in third place on the leaderboard at +16 through 36 holes at Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club.

Cumberland opened the tournament with a +11 team score in the first round before making a significant improvement in Round 2, posting a +5 to move up the leaderboard and sit just behind Reinhardt (+10) and Keiser (-2).

The Phoenix were led by Gustav Fredriksson, who bounced back with one of the strongest individual rounds of the day. After opening with a 77 (+6), Fredriksson fired a 1-under 70 in Round 2, highlighted by a 34 on the back nine. He currently sits at +5 for the tournament.

Rasmus Granroth also delivered a consistent performance, following his opening-round 74 (+3) with an even-par 72 in Round 2. He enters the final round at +4.
Stefans Spruzs posted consecutive rounds of 73, finishing Round 2 at +2 to remain at +4 overall, while Callum Hook improved from a 75 (+4) in Round 1 to a 74 (+3) in the second round. Hook is currently +7 for the tournament.

Egan Hadelman finished his second round with a 79 (+8) and sits at +10 heading into the final round.

With the Phoenix improving their team score by six strokes from Round 1 to Round 2, Cumberland enters the final round in prime position for a top finish amongst some of the countries top teams. The final round of The Invite at Innisbrook is set for 8 AM tomorrow morning.
