Bruer Webster begins his first season on the Cumberland baseball coaching staff in 2026, working primarily with the Phoenix infielders and assisting with player development.
Webster joined the program in 2026 transitioning into coaching after finishing his playing career at Lewis-Clark State College,
Webster played his junior and senior seasons at the University of Utah, appearing in 96 career games with 84 starts
In 2024 at Utah, Webster played in 42 games with 33 starts at second base, hitting .267 with two doubles, one triple, 12 RBI, eight walks, and 19 runs scored. He led the Pac-12 with eight sacrifice bunts and added four stolen bases. In his junior season at Utah, Webster appeared in 54 games with 51 starts, hitting .264 with seven doubles, one triple, 27 RBI, 22 walks, and 32 runs scored. He batted .296 in games played at second base.
Prior to Utah, Webster starred at Salt Lake Community College during the 2021 and 2022 seasons, establishing himself as the top defensive second baseman in junior college baseball. Webster earned back-to-back ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Award winner in 2021 and 2022. In 2021, he was named the NJCAA National Defensive Player of the Year and earned the 2022 NJCAA Region 18 Defensive Player of the Year. He posted a .994 fielding percentage in 2022, the highest among middle infielders on the Gold Glove list. Offensively, he hit .344 with 36 RBI during the 2022 season
Webster helped lead SLCC to a conference and region championship in 2022, with the Bruins climbing as high as No. 11 in the national junior college rankings. He was also part of the 2021 team that won its regular season conference title.
Webster prepped at Bonneville High School, where he hit .395 with 34 RBI and 30 stolen bases while helping his team win the 2019 state championship. He was a three-time First-Team All-Conference selection and also played on the Idaho Falls American Legion team that captured the 2019 American Legion World Series title.
Now entering his first season as an infield coach, Webster brings elite defensive expertise, championship experience, and a proven track record of excellence at second base as he works to elevate the Phoenix infield.
