Dell Pride was named the head coach of Cumberland University’s men’s and women’s tennis programs in June 2025. A Nashville native, Pride brings over 30 years of experience in the tennis world as a coach, instructor, and program director, spanning high school, collegiate, and professional levels.

Prior to joining Cumberland, Pride led the boys' and girls' tennis programs at Cardinal Ritter High School in Indianapolis, where he revitalized the program and earned the 2024 USTA Midwest Section Cap Leighton Award for his outstanding contributions to community tennis.

His coaching résumé includes roles at Fisk University, Warren Central High School, University School of Nashville, and the Hadley Park Jr. Tennis Development Program. He has also served as a Tennis Director and Head Pro at prestigious clubs such as The Riviera Club and Broadmoor Country Club in Indianapolis, where he successfully expanded both tennis and pickleball offerings.

Pride has worked as a Tennis Industry Representative for international companies and holds multiple professional coaching certifications. His broad expertise and passion for the sport have helped develop elite talent, including mentoring a world No. 1-ranked ITF junior player.

A graduate of Tennessee State University and former collegiate tennis player, Pride returns home to Tennessee eager to impact student-athletes both on and off the court.
