Angelyn Stanton begins her first season as a student assistant coach at Cumberland after finishing her eligibility in 2010 for the Bulldogs.
Stanton played her final two seasons at CU after spending two years at Trevecca Nazarene.
She put together a splendid season in her final campaign, earning First Team All-TranSouth honors after recording a team-best .336 attack percentage on 252 kills. She also collected 149 total blocks, ranking first in the TranSouth and 21st nationally in the NAIA in 36 matches with 31 starts. Stanton also garnered TranSouth Scholar-Athlete accolades as a senior and notched 10 matches with double-figure kills, including two double-doubles.
As a junior she saw action in 28 matches, playing in 79 sets and recorded 91 kills and 62 blocks. During her two seasons at TNU Stanton posted 159 kills and 135 blocks in 157 games.
The Nashville, Tenn., native was named Second Team NCSAA All-American and was voted First Team All-District Tournament, All-District and All-Region at Donelson Christian Academy. She also lettered two years in softball at DCA.
