Alyssa Hawkins begins her third year as an assistant athletic trainer working with football and wrestling. Hawkins will assist with the day-to-day operations for the care of 700+ student-athletes across Cumberland's campus while being the main contact for wrestling and a secondary contact for football. 

For the past year, Hawkins has worked as the Head Athletic Trainer at Stewert's Creek High School. While at Stewart's Creek, she was responsible for health care services of 500+ students-athletes. She developed and implemented rehabilitation plans, as well as return-to-play programs for athletes. 

During this time she also worked as an Athletic Trainer with STAR Physical Therapy. There she assisted physical therapists with rehab of patients in a clinical setting using ultrasound therapy, electrical stimulation, rehab exercises, and manual therapy. 

Speaking on her newest hire, Dr. Arnold said, "I'm excited for Alyssa to join our team. Her diversity in sports coverage from her high school experience will be an asset with the numerous teams we serve."

Hawkins graduated with a degree from Middle Tennessee State with a bachelor's of science degree in Athletic Training in 2020.
