Former University of Pikeville graduate and NAIA National Champion Christina Hollis begins her fifth season as the Cumberland University men's and women's bowling coach in 2025-26.
This past season, she brought the bowling program to new heights as she earned the honor of Mid-South Conference Women's Bowling Coach of the Year. Hollis also took the women's team to their first regular season Mid-South Conference Championship in their program's history after finishing 26-2 in conference play and 97-27 overall. The men's team wasn't too far behind, they were able to have a record of 85-37 and finished third in the Mid-South with a conference record of 19-9.
The women's team finished the season with the highest position in the RPI rankings in school history where they were showed at no. 5 with an RPI of 0.638 in the first RPI rankings, they would stay in the top 10 all season and end the season at no. 7 with an RPI of 0.613. Meanwhile the men's team finished the season No. 11 with an RPI of 0.599 after starting the season at No. 21 with an RPI of 0.529.
Hollis' coaching has lead to Jennifer Chiarillo getting Mid-South Conference Freshman of the Year honors, four bowlers receiving First Team All Mid-South honors, five bowlers receiving Second Team All Conference honors, as well as Chris Hollis receiving Mid-South Assistant Coach of the Year for his work with the men's team.
During her collegiate bowling career, she was a part of the Bears 2012 NAIA National Championship team as well as 2013 and 2014 Bowling National Collegiate Team Championship Runner-Up 2013.
Hollis earned First-Team NAIA All-American honors, National Collegiate Bowling Coaches Association Honorable Mention All-American, and First-Team Mid-South Conference in 2014.
After graduating, Hollis began her coaching career as a Graduate Assistant for the Women's Bowling program at Pikeville from 2014-2016. She assisted with recruiting, practice plans, and statistical entries for tournaments. After Pikeville, she went to Union College assisting their men's team to a Mid-South Conference Runner-Up, was an assistant coach at Life University in Marietta, Georgia, and most recently an assistant coach here at CU since August 2020.
Hollis graduated from the University of Pikeville with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a minor in Business in 2014 and a Masters in Business Administration in 2016.
