Cumberland started the first quarter with a basket from Gordon to grab the lead early and she followed with two free throws to grab a 4-0 lead. Leading 8-4, Georgetown responded to tie the game at 9-9 on 5-1 spurt and continued to push that out to lead 13-9 at the media.

Over the final five minutes of the first, Georgetown pushed the lead up to eight at 21-13 before Alyssa Goerhing had a putback for a 21-15 score.

Emaleigh Tarpley scored the first points of the second quarter on a scoop layup, but it was Trinity Klock off the bench that sparked the Tigers second. Klock scored 10 points in the quarter for the Tigers with seven boards to help GC pull ahead by 15 at the half, 41-26.
