LEBANON, TENN. - - Cumberland Women's Soccer blasted St. Mary-of-the-Woods College on senior day winning 15-0. Both Gabby Jones and Emelly Chicas finished the game with a hat trick of goals.

No. 16 Cumberland (9-3-0) was reeling for a big win and got the job done after honoring seven Cumberland seniors. The Phoenix posted their second-highest goal total this year scoring 15 goals on 34 shots on goal and 49 total attempts. The defense held the Pomeroys to just one shot on goal all contest and four shots total..

It was a great start to senior day with three goals in the first five minutes of play. Gabby Jones gets the Phoenix started five minutes into the game after a couple of shifty moves to find herself directly in front of the goal for her 11th goal of the season.

30 seconds later Celia Rodriguez found herself with her first goal of the season after the ball was played through the box to her for a tap in goal. The Phoenix scored off of a missed header by the Palmeroy's that was called an on-goal for the Phoenix to extend their lead 3-0 seven minutes into the first half.

14 minutes into play, and shortly after the on-goal, Kadisha Martina recorded her first goal of the game after putting the ball in the top right corner of the right post, directly through the keeper's hands. This was Martina's 13th goal of the season.

Ella Tuplin scored her second goal of the season after making her way through the box and finding the net after being assisted by Samantha Dodge.

Samantha Dodge got on the board for the Phoenix which was assisted by Kadisha Martina to make the score 6-0. Seika Ikezoe scored her 10th goal of the season after being assisted by Uxia Varella.

Uxia Varela got on the board being assisted by Taylor Bertotti and Seika Ikezoe for her 7th goal of the season. Quickly after Varela's goal Ao Yamada scored her seventh goal of the season off of a Penalty Kick early in the second half.

Grace Morris found the net after attacking hard into the box being assisted by Uxia Varela and Ao Yamada. Soon after, Gabby Jones recorded a hat trick with her third goal of the game which was assisted by Ella Tuplin.

Ao Yamada gets on the board again with a long kick outside of the box to strengthen the lead 12-0.

Emelly Chicas scored three goals in a row recording a hat trick for the Phoenix which were assisted by Lucia Mei, Uxia Verela and Kaylie Torrens to make the score 15-0.

The Phoenix will be on the road this Saturday back in conference play as they travel to Henderson to meet the Freed-Hardeman Lady Lions. The match will start at 2:00 p.m.
