MARIETTA, Ga.— Women's Basketball Falls on the Road Against Life University


Emaleigh Tarpley led the Phoenix in points with 14. Ever Walker followed Tarpley with 13 hitting four threes. Tarpley shot 50% from the field going 3-6 from the three line. 

Myajae Eubanks led the Phoenix in rebounds with eight, and also added a block. Cumberland as a whole shot 30% from the field and 70% from the free throw line. 

Cumberland and Life went back and forth in the first two quarters of action with several different lead changes until right before halftime Life went on a 8-0 run that helped them extend the lead to 30-21 at the half. 

CU brought it within four points late in the third quarter after Walker and Tarpley knocked down a pair of three's to erase the deficit. Jordan Harris also knocked down both free throws to bring the score to 36-34 with the Phoenix only down two points. 

Going into the fourth quarter, the Phoenix were only down by two. The Eagles of Life University went on a run and jumped ahead 50-38 with 3:29 left remaining in the game. The Phoenix couldn't catch back up to the Eagles and lost 58-47. 

The Phoenix will be back in action Monday, November 25th against University of North Alabama in Florence, Ala. at 6:00 PM.
