LEBANON, Tenn.--Cumberland Women's Basketball stifles Fisk with their defensive effort to run their win-streak to three in a row with a 65-43 win in the Dallas Floyd Phoenix Arena on Tuesday.

Cumberland (5-6) held Fisk to just 11 first half points and never looked back cruising to victory. The Phoenix went 22-of-58 from the field and knocked down five threes in the win. Cumberland made their way to the free throw line making 16-of-23 attempts. The Phoenix did a great job on the boards posting 45 rebounds and 19 offensive boards that translated to 12 second chance points. Cumberland also forced the Bulldogs into 24 turnovers that lead to 25 Phoenix points.

Fisk (4-5) finished last season as a 20 win team and made a trip to the NAIA National Tournament. The Bulldogs came into the game as the third best rebounding team in the NAIA averaging 50.5 a game. Cumberland did a great job limiting Fisk on the boards to just 30 rebounds.

The Bulldogs struggled in the first half making just three shots from the field. The Bulldogs did not make a single shot from the field in the second quarter which helped CU build up a 20-point lead. Fisk finished the game shooting 15-of-49 and knocked down eight triples. Fisk only went to the line five times making all five.

The Phoenix built a double-digit lead in the first quarter as they went on a 12-3 run to start the game including a 10-0 run to send Fisk into an early timeout. Out of the timeout Fisk knocked down two threes to make it 20-9 going into the second.

The second quarter was all Phoenix as they held Fisk to just two points in the entire quarter. Fortunately for Fisk, the Phoenix only were able to outscore them 12-2 in the quarter to go into the half leading 32-11.

The Bulldogs come out in the second half and got back into the game with a 14-5 to cut their deficit to just 12 points trailing 37-25. Walker drilled a three to spark an 8-0 run and push the lead back out to 20 points. The Phoenix led by 22 going into the fourth.
