Men's Soccer stays undefeated as they win 10-0 against Brescia

LEBANON, Tenn.-- Cumberland Men's Soccer stays undefeated as they soar past the Bearcats of Brescia 10-0.

The Phoenix got off to a very hot start as CU had nine shots on goal in the first half and dominated the speed and control of the game. Cumberland came into this game 4-0 looking for another dominant performance. The Phoenix were coming off of a last minute goal by Brima Kamara to beat Thomas University last weekend. 

Three Phoenix had multiple goals in this game. Robbie Lyons, Rune Peterson, and Victor Ramirez all finished with two goals. Harold Perea, Phillip Schmidtke, Christian Chase, and Zack Anderson also each added a goal a piece against Brescia. Robbie Lyons and Luis Cerejo led today in the assists column with two a piece. Rune Peterson also came away with two goals and one assist. The Phoenix finished the day with 21 shots on goal.

Harold Perea started the day off for the Phoenix off of a chase down assist by Robbie Lyons who chased it outside of the box and quickly passed it inside the box to Perea for the first goal of the day, and this first goal for Harold Perea in a Phoenix uniform. 

Phillip Schmidtke and Robbie Lyons pulled the keeper outside of his position to dribble around him and Lyons assisted Schmidtke for the goal.

Robbie Lyons scores his first goal of the day after two assists within the first ten minutes of play. Lyons got his penalty kick saved and off the bounce right off of the touchline, Lyons put it in for his fourth goal of the year to make it 3-0.

Christian Chase scored his first goal as a Phoenix as Alejandro Sandoval made a beautiful pass across the box right in front of the touchline to set up Chase's first goal. 

Rune Peterson recorded his second goal of the season in which was assisted by Marcos Perez and Alejandro Sandavol across the box finding the defense lost in a give and go scenario.

Victor Ramirez came away early in the second half with a goal that was assisted by Luis Cerejo. Cerejo quickly dribbled by a Bearcat defender and drilled a quick pass to Victor Ramirez right in front of the touchline for the Phoenix goal.

Rune Peterson, Robbie Lyons, Victor Ramirez and Zack Anderson all finished the day off by scoring in the last 15 minutes of play leading the Phoenix to a 10-0 victory.
