Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women's Soccer Routs Blue Mountain Christian, 17-0

LEBANON, Tenn.--9th-Ranked Cumberland Women's Soccer dominates in blow out 17-0 victory over Blue Mountain Christian. 

Five Phoenix had multi-goal performances led by Kadisha Martina with four goals. Seika Ikezoe and Gabby Jones each netted hat-tricks while Kaylie Torrens and Emelly Chicas each had two goal outings. Taylor Bertotti picked up four assists in the win while Grace Morris, Jones, Chicas, Martina, and Samantha Dodge each added two. 

The Phoenix (5-0-0) dominated control of the match holding the Toppers to zero shots in the entirety of the 90 minutes. Cumberland trotted out all three keepers for an easy afternoon. 

Gabby Jones started the day off with a goal in the first 10 minutes. Jones's goal was assisted by Zoe Collyer across the box to Emelly Chicas and back to Jones for the Phoenix score.

Kadisha Martina scored CU's second goal of the day. Martina was assisted by Gabby Jones inside of the box and dribbled to the touchline and passed it back and set up a Phoenix goal. 

Seika Ikezoe got on the board for the third goal of the game from a long pass by Grace Morris across the middle of the field and assisted by Kadisha Martina in the box. 

Gabby Jones picked up her second goal of the game and her fifth on the season with another goal assisted by Grace Morris across the field and into the box for the fourth goal of the game. 

Ikezoe goal number two came not long after the first one. Ikezoe Martina and Samantha Dodge both assisted on the goal from the outside and into the box for the Phoenix lead 5-0.

Samantha Dodge gets on the board in the first half also by an assist for Marta Martin from the corner off of the crossbar and Dodge touches it in for the CU goal. This was also Dodge's first goal as a member of the Phoenix Women's Soccer team. 

Kaylie Torrens also scored her first goal as a Phoenix to make the score 7-0 CU. Torrens was assisted by Ikezoe who dribbled around a defender and passed it to Torrens across the box for a Phoenix goal. 

Kadisha Martina scores her second goal of the match with a early start in the second half as she dribbled through the middle past a couple of Topper defenders to score her second goal of the day. 

Emelly Chicas went on a tear after a phenomenal pass by Taylor Bertotti from the corner all the way inside the box almost to the touchline where Chicas pushed it right in. 

Emelly Chicas scored immediately after a beautiful sequence of events in her first score. Chicas capitalized on her second goal of the day assisted by Ao Yamada across the box and Chicas finished it.

Gabby Jones ended her day with three goals and two assists as she went unassisted through the Topper's defense and scored her third goal of the day. 

Martina picked up the next two goals for Cumberland to put an end to her day with four goals. Torrens tacked on her second goal in the 68th minute before the Phoenix finished with goals from Ao Yamada, Uxia Varela, and Ikezoe for the 17-0 final.  

Cumberland will be back at home on Saturday as they play host to Missouri Baptist. Kick-off will be at 1:00 p.m. central time.
