LEBANON, Tenn.--Cumberland Volleyball has earned national recognition, appearing among the teams receiving votes in the latest NAIA Women's Volleyball Coaches' Top 25 Poll, the national office announced Wednesday morning.

The Phoenix (21-10, 4-3 MSC) sit in fourth place in the Mid-South Conference standings after their first trip through the league. Since the last poll on October 1st, Cumberland has gone 2-3 defeating Campbellsville and Talladega and losing to No. 10 Cumberlands, a ranked Lindsey Wilson squad, and Bethel last night in McKenzie. 

Lila Cade has put together a stellar sophomore season ranking fifth nationally in kills at 348. She also defensively leads the NAIA in receptions with 731 and is fourth in total points. Hazel Konkel is fifth in the MSC in kills with 222 and fourth in the league in hit percentage at .356. Three Phoenix are in the top five in the conference in digs led by Morgan Snead at 374. Cade has 334 this season and Carlee Rogers has added 299. 

The Mid-South Conference continues to be well-represented in the poll with Cumberlands (Ky.) holding at No. 10 and Lindsey Wilson (Ky.), and Campbellsville (Ky.) also receiving votes. 

Nationally, only two teams stayed put with their previous ranking. Eastern Oregon remains the unanimous No. 1 team at 20-0 and the Cumberlands stayed at No. 10 after starting 21-0. Providence (Mont.) moved from No. 3 to No. 2, Northwestern (Iowa) jumped up from No. 7 to No. 3, Concordia (Neb.) dropped two spots to No. 4, and Indiana Wesleyan rounded out the top five.

The Phoenix return to action Thursday night when they host Freed-Hardeman inside the Dallas Floyd Phoenix Arena.
