Cumberland Sits Second in MSC President’s Cup After Fall Season

LEBANON, Tenn.--Cumberland University sits firmly in the hunt for the 2025-26 Mid-South Conference President's Cup following the conclusion of the fall sports season, ranking second overall in the league standings.

The Phoenix accumulated 47 points through the fall, trailing only Cumberlands (Ky.), which leads the conference with 53 points in the year-long all-sports competition.

Cumberland's depth across both men's and women's programs was on full display during the fall slate, as the Phoenix placed second in the Women's All-Sports standings with 25.5 points while also finishing fourth in the Men's All-Sports race with 21.5 points. The fall season featured men's and women's cross country, football, men's and women's soccer, and women's volleyball, with points awarded based on regular-season finishes in each sport.

The Phoenix earned significant points across multiple sports, highlighted by a share of the women's soccer regular-season championship alongside Lindsey Wilson. Cumberland also posted strong finishes in women's cross country and women's volleyball, helping fuel its position near the top of the conference standings. On the men's side, contributions from cross country, football, and men's soccer added to the Phoenix's overall total.

Lindsey Wilson currently sits third in the President's Cup standings with 46.5 points, just behind Cumberland, followed by Campbellsville at 42.5 points and Bethel close behind with 41.5 points. Georgetown and Freed-Hardeman round out the fall standings among full conference members.

The Mid-South Conference President's Cup is awarded based on regular-season results in conference-sanctioned sports, with the top seven men's and top seven women's finishes counting toward an institution's total. As winter and spring sports still remain, Cumberland remains well-positioned to contend for the President's Cup as the 2025-26 athletic calendar continues.
