LEBANON, Tenn. — Freed-Hardeman has a huge second half to defeat Cumberland 89-61 Thursday Night. 

The Phoenix got down after the tipoff 4-0 but jumped on a 6-0 run to go ahead by two points which was led by Keyshawn Robinson. It was back and forth for the next two minutes until the Lions of Freed-Hardeman went on a 10-0 run and held the lead by 12 points at 22-10. 

Demarius Boyd had two back to back buckets for the Phoenix to erase the deficit to a 10 point game. The Lions bounced back and went on another small run to increase the lead by 15. Cumberland got four points back from a jumper and two made free throws. The Lions hit a three at the end of the first half to go into halftime with a 14 point lead at 35-21. 

Cumberland shot 8-25 from the field at 32%. The Phoenix shot 1-11 from the three point line but a perfect 4-4 from the free throw line. 

Boyd and Jalen Anglin started the second half off with strength after an and one by Boyd and a steal and fast break dunk by Anglin to erase the lead to nine points. The Phoenix got it as close as an eight point deficit but the Lions kept rolling and dominated most of the second half quickly jumping to a 15 point lead. The Lions eventually jumped ahead by 34 with a minute left and finished out the game with the victory 89-61. 

The Phoenix shot 33% from the field and 8.7% from beyond the three point line. Demarius Boyd finished the game with a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Jalen Anglin recorded 14 shooting 5-6 from the free throw line. 

The Phoenix will be back in action February 15th in Williamsburg, Ky. against University of the Cumberlands at 4:00 PM.
