MARION, Ind.--Cumberland University continued its strong showing at the 2025 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships on Thursday, as Mustapha Bokpin and Praise Idamadudu both punched their tickets to Friday finals with impressive performances in preliminary action.

Bokpin, already set to run in Friday's 200-meter final, delivered the top time overall in the men's 100-meter dash prelims, blazing to a 10.22 finish to lead a field of 30 competitors. The freshman will now enter Friday's 100-meter final as the top seed, set for 2:00 p.m. CT, looking to add to his already stellar national debut.

In the women's 400-meter dash, three-time defending national champion Praise Idamadudu continued her pursuit of a fourth straight title, advancing to the finals after placing fifth overall in prelims with a time of 55.81. The senior won her heat to earn an automatic qualifying spot and will return to the track Friday at 2:30 p.m. CT.

In field competition, sophomore Zoe Vlk competed in the women's shot put, placing 15th overall out of 20 athletes with a mark of 13.15 meters.

The relay teams finished off day two with the nightcap in the 4x400m semifinals. The women's squad of Idamadudu, Leesa Mutandwa, Ezthia Maycock, and Isabella Lehtinen posted a time of 4:12.61, finishing 23rd out of 24 teams. On the men's side, the quartet of Logan Istre, Veron Ifill, Benjamin Nyakudya, and Dinkon Sinisterra clocked a time of 3:17.90, placing 24th out of 35 teams.

Cumberland now turns its full attention to Championship Friday, with five Phoenix athletes set to compete in national finals.
