Phoenix Tied for Second After Frost-Delayed Opening Day at Five Oaks

LEBANON, Tenn.--Cumberland women's golf sits tied for second at 37-over-par after a frost delay limited play on the opening day of the Club at Five Oaks Invite.

The delayed start prevented teams from completing the scheduled two rounds, with most golfers finishing eight or nine holes in the second round before play was suspended. Teams will resume the second round Tuesday before playing the final round.

Cumberland opened with a 313 in the take-six, count-four format and is 16-over through nine holes in the second round. Marian leads the seven-team field at nine-over after shooting a first-round 296 and playing the second round at five-over. William Carey shares second with the Phoenix at 37-over. Freed-Hardeman is in fourth at 42-over, Huntington in fifth at 52-over, Georgetown is in sixth at 87-over and Missouri Baptist is in seventh at 134-over.

Crystal Zamzow paced the Phoenix and stands second individually at one-over for the tournament. Zamzow fired an even-par 73 in the opening round, recording five birdies and five bogeys. Zamzow started on Hole No. 1 and completed the front nine in round two with a birdie on No. 6 and two bogeys to sit at one over for the tournament.
Zamzow trails the leader, Jordan Adam from Marian University, by two strokes heading into tomorrow.

Franziska Mramor matched Zamzow with an opening-round even-par 73, collecting five birdies and five bogeys. Mramor is tied for eighth overall at 9-over after playing her first nine holes of the second round at 9-over.

Matilda Lind carded an 80 in the first round and is five-over through nine holes in the second, placing her tied for 14th at 12-over overall. Lucy Labdon supplied Cumberland's fourth counting score in round one with an 87 and is also five-over through nine holes in round two, sitting 24th.

Lucy Brown posted a first-round 91 and is five-over through nine holes in the second round to stand tied for 26th at 23-over. Katelyn DeHart rounded out the team lineup with a 93 and is 13-over through nine holes in round two, placing her 35th at 33-over.
