Tarpley Earns Fourth Mid-South Conference Player of the Week Honor

LEBANON, Tenn. - - Cumberland women's basketball claimed their sixth weekly honor this afternoon as Emaleigh Tarpley was rewarded for her strong showings against the University of the Cumberlands and Georgetown.

Tarpley played a huge role in the Phoenix's first conference win of the season, collecting five rebounds and a pair of late steals to seal a 65-61 win against the University of the Cumberlands Patriots, the Phoenix's first win over UC since 2019.

The junior was even better in the second game of the week, recording a 16 point 12 rebound double-double. In that game Tarpley led all players in both rebounds and blocks, swatting a pair of shots.

This is Tarpley's third conference honor this season and the second Defensive Player of the Week so far. This is her fourth player of the week honor of her career.

The Phoenix will wrap up their regular season this week with their final road and home games, hitting the road to face off with Freed-Hardeman before having senior day on Saturday against Bethel.
