LEBANON, Tenn. - - Cumberland earned a 6-1 victory over the Freed-Hardeman Lions on Senior Day yesterday.

The Phoenix took control early by sweeping all three doubles matches, helping to secure the opening point. The No. 1 duo of Matheus Guarnieri and Mohamed Bouhlel set the tone with a 6-1 win, while Mateus Mori and Carlos Morillas followed with a 6-3 victory at No. 2. Arthur Fernandes and Arne Sohmer completed the sweep at No. 3 with another convincing 6-1 result, giving Cumberland the first point of the day.

In singles play, Cumberland continued to dictate the match, claiming five of the six contests. Carlos Morillas picked up a hard-fought three-set win at No. 1 6-3, 1-6, 6-1, while Arthur Fernandes delivered a clean straight-set victory at No. 2 6-4, 6-1.

Matheus Guarnieri added another point at No. 3, rallying after dropping the first set to win in three 2-6, 7-5, 6-4. Mohamed Bouhlel controlled his match at No. 4 with a 6-0, 6-3 win, and Mateus Mori outlasted his opponent in a marathon three-set battle at No. 6, winning 7-6 (7-4), 6-7 (5-7), 12-10.

Freed-Hardeman's lone point came at No. 5 singles, where Daan van Miltenburg secured a straight-set win, but it wasn't enough to shift the overall momentum.

The Phoenix will be in conference action again this weekend, heading to Columbia, Kentucky to take on the No. 5 ranked Blue Raiders.
