LEBANON, Tenn. - - Cumberland men's tennis delivered another great MSC showing, defeating Georgetown 5-2.

The match opened with a competitive doubles slate, where Cumberland secured the doubles point by taking two of three matches. The Tigers duo came away with a 6-3 win at No. 1 doubles, taking down Carlos Morillas and Mateus Mori.

At No. 2 doubles Arthur Fernandes and Arne Sohmer battled to a tight 7-6 (7-0) victory to tie the match up at 1-1, though Mohamed Bouhlel and Matheus Guarnieri secured the point with a strong 6-2 showing on court three.

In singles play, Cumberland kept up their winning ways, taking four of six matches to seal the team victory. Matheus Guarnieri took his singles match at No.2 in straight sets, 7-5, 6-1, while Arthur Fernandes added another point with a three-set win at No. 3, 6-1, 5-7, 6-3. Mohamed Bouhlel also dominated at No. 4 singles, cruising to a 6-2, 6-0 win.

The final point of the day came from Mateus Mori, winning again in straight sets, 7-6 (7-5), 6-3. Carlos Morillas and Magnus Johansen fought hard but dropped the only two points of the day, giving Georgetown points on court one and six with scores of 7-5, 6-2, and 6-1, 6-2, respectively.

Cumberland will now have a tall task in front of them with their matchup against Tennessee Tech being rescheduled for this coming Tuesday in Cookeville.
