LEBANON, Tenn. - - Cumberland women's tennis swept Georgetown 7-0 in a match that was never in doubt from the opening serve, seeing the Phoenix not drop a single set all match.

The Phoenix secured the point with convincing wins across the board in doubles. The pairings of Valentina Mendez and Ana Melo Bulcao Souza, along with Asya Tilsim Timur and Madeleine Darud, each earned 6-2 and 6-1 victories respectively, while Elina Sungatullina and Arbelaez capped off the sweep with a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles.

Carrying that momentum into singles, Cumberland continued to control every court. Valentina Mendez led the charge at No. 1 singles with a decisive 6-4, 6-1 win, while Timur followed with a 6-3, 6-1 victory at the No. 2 spot. Arbelaez, Sungatullina, Ame Van Eijk, and Ana Melo Bulcao Souza each earned straight-set wins to complete the shutout, with none of the six singles matches requiring a third set.

In total, Cumberland dropped just a handful of games throughout singles play, highlighting the 7-0 result. The Phoenix will square off with perennial powerhouse Georgia Gwinnett on Friday, aiming to take their first ever match from the Grizzlies.
