Cumberland University

Tim Hall begins his seventh season as the cycling coach at his alma mater, leading Cumberland into the upper echelon of cycling programs in the nation. The Bulldogs have qualified for USA Cycling’s Collegiate Mountain Bike and Road National Championships every year since 2006.

Hall became involved in bicycling in 1998 and began racing competitively in 2001. He is a certified USA Cycling Level 2 coach and also competes as a Category 1 road racer. He is the publisher, promoter and team owner of NashvilleCyclist.com and for two years voluntarily served on the board as Road Director for the Tennessee Bicycle Racing Association (TBRA) in 2008-09.

Hall played baseball at Cumberland from 1989-91, earning All-America honors as a catcher during his sophomore season. He was drafted by the San Diego Padres in 1991 and spent four years playing professionally before returning to school to complete his education.

Hall graduated from Cumberland in 1995 with his bachelor’s in Business Administration and a minor in Accounting and earned his master’s in Business Administration as part of CU’s first class of MBA graduates in 1997. In addition to his coaching duties, Hall serves as an adjunct professor in the Labry School of Business and Technology at CU. He was inducted into the Cumberland Sports Hall of Fame in 2005.
