Jessica Cain

Jessica Cain will begin her third year as the cheerleading and dance coach at Cumberland University during the 2025-2026 season.

During her first season, Cain was able to lead the team to a successful finish at the Mid-South Conference Championships to earn Mid-South Conference Coach of the Year honors. In the 2025 season, Cain's cheer team posted their highest score in program history at the Mid-South COnference Championships, as well as a fourth place finish at the NCA College Nationals.

Cain comes to CU with five years of coaching experience, most of which has been spent in the Middle Tennessee area. She most recently was the head coach of Davidson Academy’s varsity cheerleading program where her team finished 6th at the 2023 UCA High School Nationals in the school’s first UCA Nationals appearance in program history.

Cain earned her Bachelors of Arts degree in Spanish Education with a minor in Athletic Coaching from Campbellsville University. During her tenure at Campbellsville, she was also a member of the cheerleading squad from 2012-2016. She was a member of the 2015 MSC championship team and received the honor of 2015 MSC Champion of Character. Cain was also a member of the MSC All-Academic Conference team from 2014-2016. While on the squad she also competed at NCA College Nationals in Daytona, Florida where the team consistently received a top ten finish.

She is married to her college sweetheart and fellow Campbellsville alum, Wes Cain, and the couple have one son, JJ.
