Stiles led off the bottom of the first with a solo homer down the leftfield line, cutting the deficit in half.
In the second Garrison Price was hit and Joey Underwood singled before a bunt by Jeffries. Stiles was late getting to the bag and Ryan Simmons’ throw sailed down the line and out of play, allowing a run to score and putting runners on second and third with no outs. King’s sacrifice fly made it 4-1 Lions after an inning-and-a-half.
King reached on an error with one out in the fourth for Bryan and scored on Calhoun’s two-out single to right, extending the lead to 5-1.
Cumberland got a run back in the fifth when Jarrett Plunkett singled with two outs, took second on a wild pitch and scored on Stiles’ single down the leftfield line, but he was thrown out trying to stretch it to a double by King.
The Lions expanded the lead with runs in the seventh, eighth and ninth innings.
Kelvin McMiller led off the seventh with a double, moved to third on a sacrifice bunt by Cody Rhinehart and scored on Andrew Urbistondo’s sac fly.
