Redshirt Junior Luke Holloway was named the First Team All-Mid-South Conference Quarterback. The signal caller was named MSC Offensive Player of the Week three times this season as well as earned NAIA Offensive Player of the Week one time. Holloway was the focal point of the offense not only throwing the ball, but led the team in rushing yards this season. Holloway completed 62% of his passes for 1,468 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also ran for 854 yards and 12 more scores on the ground.
Transfer running back Jeremiah Bryant was great in his senior season with Cumberland earning First Team All-Conference accolades. Bryant was a big part of a loaded backfield. He ran for 622 yards and 10 touchdowns. Bryant had two 100 yard games and had two multi-touchdown games scoring three against St. Andrews and four at the Cumberlands.
Center Brody Hall was named First Team All-Conference on the offensive line. Hall was named the team's MSC Champion of Character nominee earlier this week. Hall was the only lineman to start in all 10 games for the Phoenix. He was a big part of the success for Cumberland offensively doing the dirty work up front.
Left tackle Will Sanchez also earns First Team All-Conference honors. This is the second time he has earned All-Conference accolades after being named to the Second Team last season. Sanchez protected Holloway's blindside all season and did not allow a single sack all year.
Edge rusher Dez Wallace was named First Team All-Conference. The senior from Jackson, Tennessee posted 34 tackles this season. Wallace tied for first in the conference in the sacks category.
Safety Derek Taylor made his way on the first team all conference list this season as well. Taylor was a second team all conference selection last year. He posted 38 tackles this season and was second on the team in pass break ups with six. Taylor also recorded a sack against Missouri Baptist in week one.
Freshman Jarrius Rogers earns a spot on the Second Team after finishing as the leading receiver for the Phoenix. Rogers caught 20 passes this season for 426 yards. He hauled in six touchdown passes and also rushed for two more scores. He had two touchdown catches against Union in week two and finished the year with one touchdown and grab in three of the final four games.
True Freshman running back, Jacob Cornejo earns a spot on the Second Team and also wins Freshman of the Year after posting an impressive freshman year. Cornejo rushed for 538 yards on 71 carries and did not lose a single yard from scrimmage. Cornejo accounted for five scores and 7.6 yards per carry. Cornejo also earned Mid-South Conference Offensive Freshman of the Year honors.
Sophomore defensive lineman Joey Samples earns Second team All-Conference accolades for the first time in his career. Samples was a run-stopper for CU up the middle posting 40 tackles this season, second-most on the team. He had a knack for being at the right place at the right time picking up three fumble recoveries. Also he had one scoop and score touchdown against Missouri Baptist in week one.
Cornerback Kion Threalkill was named a Second Team All Conference selection as well. Threalkill was named MSC player of the week one time this season.
