Johnson, Sanchez Collect More All-America Honors

LEBANON, Tenn.--Junior defensive back Cannon Johnson added two more national accolades to his growing résumé, earning Second Team All-America honors from both the Associated Press and Victory Sports Network and offensive lineman earned Third Team VSN All-America accolades.

Johnson continued to establish himself as one of the most disruptive defensive players in the NAIA during a dominant junior campaign. The Mid-South Conference Defensive Player of the Year led the league with 45 solo tackles while ranking second in total tackles with 68. He filled the stat sheet with impact plays, adding 4.0 sacks, 11.0 tackles for loss, two interceptions, six pass breakups, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery.

Beyond the numbers, Johnson consistently changed games with his presence, accounting for two defensive touchdowns and serving as the centerpiece of the Phoenix defense. His standout season included multiple weekly honors, as he was named Mid-South Conference Defensive Player of the Week twice and also garnered Tennessee Sports Writers Association recognition.

Sanchez anchored the Cumberland offensive line during his senior campaign, earning national recognition for his play in the trenches. The veteran left tackle helped pave the way for a Phoenix offense that averaged nearly 400 yards per game, including over 210 rushing yards per contest, while providing steady protection on the blind side. His Third Team All-America selection from Victory Sports Network caps a standout career and underscores his role as one of the top offensive linemen in the NAIA.
