Cumberland Football Announces 2026 Schedule

LEBANON, Tenn.--Cumberland University Football has announced its 2026 schedule, featuring 11 contests, including six home games at Nokes-Lasater Field.

The Phoenix open the 2026 campaign under the lights on Thursday August 27, welcoming St. Thomas University (Fla.) to Lebanon for a 6:00 PM kickoff. After a bye week, Cumberland hits the road for the first time on September 12, traveling to face Ave Maria University.

Cumberland returns home for three-straight contests, beginning with University of Pikeville on September 19 before hosting Florida Memorial University on September 26. The homestand continues into early October as the Phoenix take on Georgetown College (Ky.) on October 3.

Starting on October 10th Cumberland will hit the road for three-straight games beginning at Andrew College, followed by a matchup at Campbellsville University (Ky.) on October 17. Cumberland then travels to University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) on October 24.

The Phoenix return home on October 31 to host Lindsey Wilson University (Ky.) before wrapping up the road schedule at Faulkner University (Ala.) on November 7.

Cumberland closes the 2026 regular season at home on November 14 against Bethel University (Tenn.) for Senior Day.

The Phoenix posted a 7-4 record in 2025 going 3-3 in conference play. Cumberland picked up their second-consecutive seven win season for the first time since the 2012 and 2013 season. Cumberland received votes in nine of the NAIA Top 25 Coaches' Polls last year.

Cumberland had four players earn First Team All-Conference honors last season and three more earn Second Team. First team honorees included wide receiver Jarrius Rogers, safety Cannon Johnson, linebacker Chazz Hunter, and left tackle Will Sanchez. Second Team honorees were offensive guard Drake Fisher, running back Jacob Cornejo, and defensive back Daniel Doegan. Johnson and Sanchez both earned AFCA All-American honors.
