LOUISVILLE, Ky.--Cumberland women's cross country turned in a strong team performance at the Live in Lou Cross Country Classic on Saturday, finishing seventh out of 23 teams in the Silver 5K race with 216 points.
Sarah Wilkerson led the Phoenix with a 38th-place finish, clocking a time of 20:36.1, while
Alexa Rumpf (20:39.9) and
Wendy Komane (20:45.4) followed close behind in 42nd and 48th, respectively.
Laykin Ellis ran 21:04.4 to place 66th, and
Sami Parker rounded out the team's scoring with a 21:21.7 finish in 75th.
Jenna Towles (21:29.5),
Lilah Mohler (21:36.6), and
Channon Cundiff (22:22.1) also contributed solid efforts for Cumberland.
Austin Peay captured the team title with 63 points, while Glenville State's Natalie Barr claimed the individual crown in 18:23.7. The Phoenix will look to build on their momentum at the Ray Bullock Invitational on October 10.
