Conger Repeats as MSC MBB Player of the Week

LEBANON, Tenn.--Cumberland guard Triston Conger has been named the Mid-South Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the second consecutive week, conference officials announced Monday.

Conger led the Phoenix to a 2-0 week, averaging 22.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game while shooting an impressive 65.6% (21-for-32) from the field. He poured in 29 points on 13-of-18 shooting with eight rebounds and four assists in an 88-72 win over Welch before adding 16 points and five rebounds in a 75-63 victory against Union Commonwealth.

The Hendersonville, Tenn., native has been electric to start the season, continuing his hot start after earning the same honor last week. Through six games, Conger is averaging 21.7 points per game for a total of 130 points this season, seventh-best in the NAIA. He also has contributed 30 assists for the seventh-most and has made the fifth-most field goals at 51. 

Cumberland (5-1) has just one game this week on the road at RV Georgia Gwinnett on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.
