Cade, Konkel Earn AVCA Southeast All-Region Honors

LEBANON, Tenn.--Cumberland volleyball continued to collect postseason recognition as senior Hazel Konkel and sophomore Lila CadeHazel Konkel were named to the AVCA Southeast Region All-Region Team. Both standouts earned First Team All-Mid-South Conference honors, with Konkel picking up the fourth All-Region selection of her career and Cade earning the distinction for the first time.

Cade capped off a dominant all-around campaign as one of the most productive six-rotation players in the country. She posted 437 kills at 3.03 per set, totaled 504 points, and hit .262 across 1,251 swings. Cade also delivered a major punch from the service line with 44 aces, while leading the Phoenix defensively with a team-high 456 digs at 3.17 per set and a .946 reception percentage. Her ability to impact every phase of the match made her one of the most complete outside hitters in the region.

Konkel once again proved to be one of the most efficient middle blockers in the NAIA, hitting a blistering .341 on the year with 266 kills, 51 errors, and 631 attempts. Offensively, she averaged 1.86 kills per set and totaled 348.5 points, while providing elite defensive production at the net with 134 total blocks to average 0.94 blocks per set. This season marks the fourth time in her storied Cumberland career that she has earned a spot on the AVCA Southeast All-Region team, continuing her legacy as one of the most decorated players in program history.

Together, Cade and Konkel powered Cumberland to a strong season. The duo helped lead CU to 25 wins for the first time since 2021 and the second-most wins in a season in their last 15 years.
