Women's Golf Hold Firm to Finish in Third Place at MSC Championships

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.—Cumberland Women's Golf saved their best for last at the Mid-South Conference Championship, firing a 311 in Thursday's final round to secure third place at Bowling Green Country Club.

The Phoenix posted rounds of 317, 322, and 311 for a 54-hole total of 950. The strong final day helped Cumberland hold its position on the leaderboard and secure the program a third place finish.

Freshman Matilda Lind led the effort with a team-low 74 in the final round, finishing sixth overall at 232 (79-79-74). Her third-round score was the fourth-lowest in the field Thursday.

Remarkably all four remaining members of the Phoenix squad had identical scores today as Lucy Labdon, Liza Kharaldina, Franziska Mramor, and Crystal Zamzow each contributed matching rounds of 79 in the final round. Labdon tied for 11th at 237, while Kharaldina (240), Mramor (243), and Zamzow (245) followed in 14th, 16th, and 20th respectively.

Lindsey Wilson took the victory overall with an impressive 869 through three rounds, nearly 60 shots better than second-place Cumberlands total of 928. Clutch late shots from the Phoenix ensured the charging Bethel Wildcats a fourth place finish, totaling 952 strokes, two more than CU.

Butpapaporn Sukterm from Lindsey Wilson College took the individual winner honor as well as team win, her sixth tournament win of this collegiate season.
