LEBANON, Tenn.--The Cumberland women's cross country team put together a dominant performance on Friday, capturing the team title at the Midway XC Invitational with just 23 points, well ahead of second-place Georgetown.

The Phoenix packed up tightly at the front, placing all five scorers inside the top 10. Sarah Wilkerson led the way with a runner-up finish in 25:47.13, followed by Sami Parker in fourth at 26:00.36. Lilah Mohler (26:17.51) and Wendy Komane (26:20.12) crossed in sixth and seventh, while Laykin Ellis sealed the victory with a ninth-place finish in 26:22.77.

Alexa Rumpf crossed the finish line in 11th at 26:31.34, Jenna Towles (26:42.69) in 13th, and Channon Cundiff (27:02.43) in 15th, giving the Phoenix eight runners inside the top 15 in a field with 46 runners.

Behind Cumberland, Georgetown finished second with 45 points, Midway third with 77, Lindsey Wilson fourth with 98, Kentucky State fifth with 132, and Pikeville sixth with 138.

The Phoenix will run next at the "Live in Lou" Louisville XC Classic on Saturday, October 4.
