Cumberland Volleyball Receives Votes in NAIA Top 25

LEBANON, Tenn.--Cumberland Women's Volleyball receives votes in the first regular season coaching poll of the year. 

Cumberland has started the year off strong with a 10-3 record to open the season with some quality wins on the resume. 

The Phoenix rank first in the NAIA in assists (569), block assists (164), total blocks (107), and total points (815.0), while also sitting second in service aces (116). Cumberland is third in both kills (592) and digs (802), showing a balanced attack and strong defensive presence. The team also stands out nationally, ranking inside the top 25 in both blocks per set (2.18) and service aces per set (2.37).

Sophomore Lila Cade is 10th nationally in kills with 136 this season and sixth in receptions at 306. Hazel Konkel ranks inside the Top 6 in both block assists (40) and total blocks (48). Kaleigh Glass sits in 28th in digs and is also 14th in aces (22). Freshman Jacey Hubbell has one more ace than Glass with 23 to sit tied for seventh nationally. 

Eastern Oregon has jumped up to take No. 1 spot in the ranking. Concordia (Neb.) also moved up two spots to No. 2. Bellevue (Neb.) slipped one spot to No. 3 followed by Corban (Ore.) at No. 4. Providence moved up to five spots to fill in the final spot in the Top 5. 

Four new teams joined the poll this week: Cumberlands (Ky.), Taylor (Ind.), Spring Arbor (Mich.), and Dakota State (S.D.).

The Master's (Calif.) saw the biggest move up in the poll, from No. 23 up nine spots to No. 14 after Top 25 wins over Mount Vernon Nazarene (Ohio), Southern Oregon, William Carey (Miss.), and Midland (Neb.). College of Idaho and Missouri Baptist also made big moves up in the poll, with each moving up eight spots. 

Around the Mid-South Conference, the Cumberlands are ranked the highest at No. 20. Lindsey Wilson is the first team outside of the Top 25 in the receiving votes category. Cumberland follows the Blue Raiders. 

The Phoenix are on the road in Michigan this weekend to take part in the Aquinas/Cornerstone Invite.
