Cumberland Rocket League Claims Third Straight Mid-South Conference Championship

LEBANON, Tenn.--The Cumberland Esports Rocket League team secured the Mid-South Conference Championship for the third consecutive year with a 4-1 series victory over the University of the Cumberlands.

The Phoenix roster of Daniel Rees, Henri Kreuger, Benjamin Eleby, Matthew Zabel, Gerson Cardenas, and Hamp Lackey continued their dominance throughout the postseason to claim the conference title.

Cumberland put together an outstanding regular season, finishing 6-0 in Mid-South Conference play to earn the No. 1 seed in the tournament and a first-round bye.

The Phoenix faced the Patriots in the Grand Finals and came out firing in the opening match, securing a 5-2 victory to take the early lead. Cumberland carried that momentum into match two, delivering an offensive explosion with 11 goals in an 11-1 win to push the series advantage to 2-0.

In match three, the Phoenix continued to pressure the Patriots' defense, scoring nine goals in a dominant 9-2 victory to move within one win of the championship.

The fourth match proved to be the most competitive of the series, as both teams traded goals in a back-and-forth battle. The Patriots broke through late to secure a 5-4 win and extend the series.

Cumberland quickly responded in match five with another impressive offensive performance, scoring 10 goals in a commanding 10-2 win to clinch the series 4-1 and secure the Mid-South Conference Championship for the third straight season.
