Women’s Bowling Enters First-Ever ITC Tournament in Program History

Lebanon, Tenn. --  Phoenix heads to Green Bay, Wisconsin, to compete in the 2026 Intercollegiate Team Championship.

After an impressive 2025-26 season that saw Cumberland earn its first-ever Mid-South Tournament Championship, first-ever NAIA Tournament appearance, and the first 300 game in program history in the NAIA Championship, the Phoenix travel to Green Bay, Wisconsin, to compete in their first-ever Intercollegiate Team Championship at the Ashwaubenon Bowling Alley.

The ITC is a three-day tournament starting on Thursday, April 16th, and ending on Saturday, April 18th. The first day is the qualifying rounds, where all 16 teams will throw 24 baker games and find their seeding for match play. Match play consists of a 16-team, double-elimination bracket, similar to the Mid-South and NAIA Championships, but it is a best-of-seven baker series, instead of mega matches.

Day One features the first two rounds of match play, with day two featuring the rest of the match play heading into the championships, with day three being the championship round.

The Phoenix entered as one of 16 teams that qualified through the USBC Sectionals. Joining them from the Smyrna sectional are the NCAA Champion and reigning ITC Champion Jacksonville State, Lindenwood, and SCAD-Savannah. From the Pittsburgh sectional, McKendree University, St. Vincent College, Duquesne, and Trine qualified. North Carolina A&T, Louisiana Tech, Newman, and Tulane all qualified from the Fort Worth sectional, and Maryville, Sacred Heart, Mount Mercy, and Central Missouri were the qualifiers from the Addison sectional.

Of the 16 qualifying teams, Cumberland finished in 10th with a score of 12350. Jacksonville State led all qualifiers with a score of 14295, and Tulane was the final qualifier with a score of 11849.

Cumberland will begin their ITC journey on April 16th at 8:00 am for their qualifying rounds. The first two days of the ITC will be broadcast on Bowl TV, with the final day airing on national television through CBS Sports on Tuesday, May 5th, through a tape delay. For live stats, Lanetalk will be hosting scoring for the weekend, which shows all of the live scores up to each frame thrown.
