Men's Volleyball to Face Tigers for a Spot in the RSC Tournament Final

LEBANON, Tenn. - - Men's Volleyball will travel to face No.7 Campbellsville in the River States Conference Tournament semi-final.

The Phoenix are coming into the game after defeating Saint Mary of the Woods in an intense battle that went the full five sets. The Phoenix came from behind twice before taking the fifth set 15-13.

Joao Infante once again led the line for the Phoenix with 24 kills on a .409 hitting percentage. On Wednesday Infante picked up more honors as he was named to the River States All-Conference first team for his incredible season so far. Francesco Corradini and Alexander Heuer have been solid for the Phoenix as they picked up second team honors. Corradini had a big night against the Pomeroy's with six blocks and seven kills, while Heuer helped the team with 15 digs.

Frederick Amegbletor has been another consistent performer for the Phoenix as he was named third team all conference. The senior chipped in with 13 kills and two blocks on Tuesday night's win. Austin Kuehler had a double double for the Phoenix with 50 assists and 10 digs. The Phoenix are averaging a .257 hitting percentage.

Campbellsville clinched the River States Conference Regular Season title last weekend as they defeated Georgetown in three straight sets. Being the No.1 seed in the tournament the Tigers received a bye in the first round.

The Tigers had four players named to the all conference team first team, including Alonzo Vega who has been one of Campbellsville's most consistent players. Vega led the conference in blocks per set with 11.03.

Andrew Ovalle has been another consistent player for the Tigers as he led the conference in digs per set with 4.13. Ovalle was also named to the all conference first team. Campbellsville are currently averaging a .298 hitting percentage. Pedro Zavatini has an incredible .512 hitting percentage on the season.

In all time history the Tigers lead the Phoenix 5-13, however, in regular season play this year the both teams have taken a win. The last match up was a close battle going the full five sets, with the Tigers narrowly taking the win. The Phoenix will be filled with confidence knowing they have defeated the Tigers on their home court once this season and hoping they will be able to do it again.

The game is set to start at 3PM CT tomorrow. The winner will book their place in the Conference Tournament final on Saturday 18 April.
