Hyde and Hourigan Selected to All-Region Team in Inaugural Flag Football Season

LEBANON, Tenn. - - NAIA East Region Flag Football awards were announced this afternoon and the Phoenix picked up a pair of honors in their inaugural season, as was announced by the league office this afternoon.

Marley Hyde garnered the highest praise for the Phoenix, being selected to the Region's First Team. The sophomore has the third highest receiving yard total in the country at 1571 yards at the time of writing, higher than anyone else in the East Region.

Hyde also pulled in 23 touchdowns, for the fifth highest total in the country. She rushed for a touchdown and threw for three more, moving her season total up to 27 overall.

Defensively, the Phoenix were represented in the Second Team by Ava Hourigan. The freshman pulled 92 flags over her 22 games, tying for tenth in the country. She also added in a trio of sacks, pass breakups, and interceptions. Her highlight game of the year came against King on March 7th where the rusher picked off two passes and led the game with nine flag pulls.
