Infante Takes Second NAIA Attacker of the Week Honor

LEBANON, Tenn. - - Joao Infante was named the NAIA Attacker of the Week for the second time this season, following a dominant 4-0 stretch for Cumberland last week.

Infante led the Phoenix attack all week, piling up 61 kills while swinging at a blistering .480 clip and averaging 4.69 kills per set over four matches. The senior outside hitter elevated his play in conference competition, posting 46 kills on a .557 hitting percentage, including a standout 22-kill effort against Indiana East.

He also contributed 15 kills at a .313 mark in a four-set victory over No. 12 Reinhardt.

This recognition is Infante's fifth weekly award of the season and the ninth of his career, as he continues to set the pace in several offensive categories within the River States Conference.

The Portuguese standout remains one of the top attackers both in the conference and nationally, with 391 total kills (4th in the nation) and an average of 4.39 kills per set (5th nationally). He currently leads the conference in both kills and kills per set while hitting .321 on the season.

Infante's honor marks the eighth national player of the week award in program history and the second for Cumberland in 2026.
