Men's Soccer Reveals 2026 Fall Schedule

LEBANON, Tenn. - - The Cumberland men's soccer program has announced its 2026 fall schedule, highlighted by several marquee matchups, including a trip to Des Moines, Iowa, to face defending national champion Grand View University.

Last fall the Phoenix had what most would agree was their best season in program history, winning their first ever National Tournament game in team history and making it to the final site, ending with a record of 14-4-3. The season was capped off with two NAIA All-American First Team selections and a Round of 16 exit in Orange Beach.

The Phoenix open the campaign with a pair of exhibition matches against NCAA Division I opponents in Louisville and Lipscomb before officially beginning the regular season on the road against Bryan College Bryan on August 26.

Cumberland opens its home slate with two matches in three days, welcoming Tennessee Wesleyan University and Truett McConnell University. That gives the Phoenix three straight Appalachian Athletic Conference opponents to start the year.

The challenging nonconference stretch continues with a trip west to Iowa for back-to-back matches against Heart of America opponents that both made deep runs in last season's NAIA National Tournament.

On September 5, Cumberland faces defending national champion Grand View before taking on national quarterfinalist William Penn University two days later.

There will be little time to recover, as Mid-South Conference play begins the following weekend at home against Bethel University, the same team the Phoenix will look to avenge after falling in last season's MSC Championship match.

CU then returns to the road for a trip to Pulaski to face University of Tennessee Southern, followed by another conference road test against Freed-Hardeman University.

The Phoenix return home on September 20 for a matchup against SCAD-Savannah before heading back on the road to face Georgetown College on September 24 and Georgia Gwinnett on September 29. The latter presents another opportunity for revenge after the Grizzlies eliminated Cumberland in the Round of 16 of last year's national tournament.

October brings a much more home-heavy schedule, with Cumberland hosting four of its final five regular-season matches. The month begins with a home contest against Lindsey Wilson on October 2.

The lone road trip of the month comes on October 8, when the Phoenix travel to Williamsburg to face University of the Cumberlands, last season's national semifinalist.

Cumberland closes the regular season with three straight home matches, beginning with Wiley University on October 16, welcoming the Texas team back after the Wildcats appeared in the Lebanon Pod during last season's NAIA Opening Round.

Faulkner University visits Lebanon on October 20 following a tightly contested matchup in Alabama last season, before Campbellsville comes to town for the regular-season finale on October 24.
