HATTIESBURG, Miss. - - The Cumberland University women's golf team sits in fourth place following the opening two rounds of the Carey Collegiate at Canebrake Country Club.

The Phoenix opened the tournament with a team score of 35-over-par before improving by 13 strokes in the second round, finishing the second round at 22-over. Cumberland enters Tuesday's final round at 57-over-par, sitting fourth in the six team field.

Crystal Zamzow leads the Phoenix individually after two rounds, carding rounds of 78 and 74 to sit at 8-over-par for the tournament and ninth overall. Her second-round 74 was Cumberland's lowest individual round of the day, aided by a strong 14 par shots.

Alba McCorquodale is next for the Phoenix at 14-over-par, shooting 80 in the opening round and improving to 78 in the second, helping her inside of the top 20. Matilda Lind sits at 18-over after rounds of 85 and 77, while Lucy Labdon is 19-over following consistent rounds of 82 and 81.

Competing as an individual, Lucy Zalla enters the final round at 22-over after rounds of 80 and 86, while Lucy Brown is 25-over after posting rounds of 83 and 86.

Lindsey Wilson leads the team standings at 22-over-par, followed by hosts William Carey at 28-over and Dalton State at 32-over. Cumberland's 57-over total places the Phoenix five strokes ahead of fifth-place Loyola (La.).

The Carey Collegiate concludes Tuesday with the final 18 holes at Canebrake.
