Nutu in Third heading into Day Two of Kinderlou Forest Spring Invite

VALDOSTA, Ga.—Nathalie Nutu sits in third place while Cumberland women's golf is in fourth after day one of the Kinderlou Forest Spring Invitational hosted by Dalton State. 

The teams got a late start today as a frost delay delayed the field from getting on the course and completing all 36-holes scheduled for today. 

The host Dalton State leads the field at 27-over as a squad. Truett McConnell is six-strokes behind the Road Runners in second place. Southeastern is in third place 11-strokes behind the Bears and the Phoenix are 10-strokes behind the Fire in fourth. 

Nathalie Nutu has been a bright spot for Cumberland today sitting in third place 138 strokes on the day. Nutu started her first with a 77 in her first round posting 13 pars and five bogeys. She has five bogeys in her second round as well, but picked up two birdies and an eagle on 7. Nutu drove the green on the 274-yard par four and made a 20-foot putt for eagle. She is four-strokes behind the leader, Sydney Herman from Dalton State, who is seven-under on the second round with four birdies and two eagles. 

Matilda Lind is tied for 18th at 13-over-par. Lind shot a 78 in her first round with 13 pars, four bogeys, and a double. She has two holes left to play in round two and seven over par at the moment. 

Caitlyn Bilham sits tied for 22nd place after day one. Bilham shot an 80 in round one with a birdie on No. 11. She also has two holes left in her second round and is at nine-over on the round. 

Ida Furuheim is tied for 25th. Furuheim posted a 10-over 82 in round one with a birdie on 15. She had seven bogeys, two doubles, and eight pars. On round two she has picked up two birdies, but also is nine-over with one hole to finish tomorrow. 

Lucy Labdon shot an 84 in round one and eight-over in round two to sit tied for 29th. Labdon played the front at three-over her first round, but played the ball at nine-over. She has three holes left in round two and has picked up one birdie on No. 2. 

Franziska Mramor is in 40th place after carding an 87 in round one and is 21-over in round two. 

The Phoenix will finish their second round tomorrow before playing round three of the tournament.
